There’s not really that much to say about today’s new page — Eleanor’s curse is Eleanor’s delight, and vice versa. But no matter how her dreams stretch and flex… she never hears the voice in them. So she wakes each night to her life: the casts and pins and bandages and the wheelchair. Even on its best day, the real world cannot measure up to those fleeting moments she spent in the company of that voice.

Whoever it was.

On another note: We are almost finished with the prologue to Eleanor’s story! Just four more pages, and then I think you’ll be happy to see how much bigger her tale gets. It unfolds and unfolds, like one of those MASH notes that girls made in middle school.

And for fun today, some quick Eleanor sketches that I did while traveling this week.

Eleanor rows to Huffnagle.

Eleanor's island.

She can totally fly.

Eleanor as Supergirl?

Now that you’ve read today’s comic — and shared it with all of your friends, right? — I highly recommend you spend the next few hours with Sarah Mensinga. Not only will her blog introduce you to her must-read graphic novel The Wellington Division, it’ll suck you in with dozens of wonderful illustrations like this excellent grumpy Supergirl and this pair of dastardly pirates. Storytellers don’t come much better than this!

Happy Thursday, everybody!
