I cannot imagine a more terrible reality for our Eleanor.
Everything sweeps back in. The broken limbs. The pins in her arm. Her pretty hair, shaved away during the surgeries.
And the fall, just a dream receding to a speck. Only to return the night after, and the night after.
Eleanor’s story is a bit grim now, but this is just the prologue, and we’re almost through to the other side. Just eight more pages, and everything really gets started.
